For more than 30 years, I have served Sarasota County educators as a teacher, department chair, mentor, coach, and union representative. I understand the daily realities our members face — in the classroom, in meetings, and in the policies that shape our working conditions.
My platform is built on five core priorities: Voice, Working Conditions, Support, Unity, and Student Success.
Strengthening Teacher Voice & Respect
Our union must be a strong, consistent voice for educators at every school site.
As SC/TA President, I will:
• Foster productive relationships with district leadership, Landings administrators, and school-based administration
• Visit each school during my first semester to listen directly to members’ concerns
• Ensure timely and transparent responses to member questions
• Increase communication and transparency between union leadership and members
• Allow union members to attend Representative Council meetings via Zoom
When staff is heard and respected, trust grows and solutions become possible.
Improving Working Conditions
Staff retention and morale are directly tied to working conditions. We must advocate for environments where educators can thrive.
I will prioritize:
• Reasonable workloads and manageable class sizes
• Fair scheduling and protected planning time
• Strong advocacy for staff rights at the school level
• Meaningful support for new and overwhelmed educators
• Addressing policies that negatively impact staff retention
Our educators deserve conditions that allow them to focus on what matters most, teaching and supporting students.
Expanding Support & Resources
Teachers cannot succeed without the proper tools and support systems in place.
As President, I will work to ensure:
• Improved access to classroom supplies and technology
• Increased awareness and availability of mental health and wellness support
• Professional development opportunities chosen by staff, not dictated to them.
• Clear communication about available union and district resources
Supporting staff holistically strengthens our profession and our schools.
Expanding Support & Resources
A strong union is built on unity, inclusion, and collaboration.
My goal is to:
• Bring staff together across schools, departments, and grade levels
• Make the union welcoming, active, and visible, not just procedural.
• Encourage collaboration instead of isolation.
• Create a culture where members feel connected, valued, and informed.
When we stand together, our voice is stronger.
Student Success Through Staff Support
At the heart of this campaign is a simple truth:
Supporting staff leads to better outcomes for students.
Advocating for fair conditions, professional respect, and meaningful support directly impacts student learning, school climate, and community trust. Our union’s mission must always reflect that staff success and student success are inseparable.
My Commitment
I am not running for this position to make noise.
I am running to build relationships, strengthen communication, and advocate effectively for our members.
With decades of classroom experience and leadership service in Sarasota County Schools, I understand both the challenges we face and the opportunities ahead.
